30x41cm, framed
Central West, NSW
“The lines of the soil as seen from above
Like weaving a picture of the land
Seasons determine the work to be done
By farmer in partnership with the land
Farming is weaving and following a pattern
Dominated by four distinct seasons
Life on the land for the families involved
Operating the weaver’s shuttle
The woven fabric of Summer shows the earth ironed bare
Which gives way to a less punishing Autumn
Winter settles to a cooler climate
Whilst Spring breaks Winter’s tangled thread
For those that work, care and call it home
Life on the land is neither easy or predictable
But reaps rewards working with a living thread
Weaving interdependency with families and the land
That provides a quilt of generational appeal” - KRB
