Acrylic on Canvas
41x41cm, Framed
Myra's artistic practice is informed by her surroundings and nature. These works have been influenced by the WA landscape particularly in the South West region of Margaret River. These pieces were inspired by a place call Gnarabup where she walks along the Indian Ocean. Myra responds to colour and form allowing the strong colours to voice their presence and are intuitively chosen; this gives her work a sense of energy and freedom to each piece. Myra moves between abstract and semi representational work, she likes to capture the energy and mood of the environment with the mediums of acrylic, and water colour. The abstraction of the natural world is her way of painting it, revealing the spirit of place.
