Stoneware Clay
21cm diameter x 22cm height
Shannon makes ceramic tableware, home décor and jewellery. Each form is crafted with a focus on quality, design and ease of use, balancing beauty with purpose. All pieces are designed and made in her studio in Rockdale. Shannon's practice centres on creating classic forms that celebrate the handmade. She is guided by the colours, textures, and rhythms and finds inspiration all around, including the coastline and bush close to home, the night sky, the quiet gentle life of her suburb.
The Way Home vases are made from raku clay using coil construction. Oxides and slips work together on the surface forming impressions or views of our world as a destination. The view prompts a direct and immediate response; to stop and consider our world in its entirety, as our home and hopefully pose the question of how we value it as home.
