Oil on canvas
50x40cm, Framed
Originally trained in oil painting (contemporary visual arts) in New Zealand, Vanessa is now based in Sydney, Australia. She finds inspiration in the beauty of nature and light. Artistically, Vanessa is drawn to the grounded compositions of Morandi and the tonal colours of Monet.
These paintings are based on photos taken on Croagh Patrick, a historic pilgrimage site located in Ireland. A meadow of shamrock and sienna covers the path up this misty mountain. The brook trickles down craggy stones and draws your eye upward, back to the stormy skies above.
