Suzanne Barrett - Sorbet Coast
33x23cm, framed
Acrylic on canvas
Suzanne Barrett is an Australian coastal landscape artist who captures the ever-changing beauty of the ocean through evocative, layered seascapes. With a BA in Fine Art and a background in art education, Suzanne works primarily in acrylics and oils to explore the shifting dialogue between movement and stillness. Her intuitive process utilises soft washes and textured palette knife work to blur the line between realism and abstraction. Inspired by the restorative power of the salt air and rhythmic tides, Suzanne’s work invites viewers to find tranquility and a deep, emotional connection to the sea.
Sorbet Coast captures the carefree feeling of a day by the sea — warm sand beneath your feet, salt in the air, rolling waves and the simple pleasure of an ice cream melting in your hand. The vibrant palette of turquoise blues, soft pinks, sandy ochres and creamy whites reflects the joyful colours of a coastal holiday.
Expressive layers of acrylic, applied loosely with a palette knife, create movement across the water and sky, suggesting shifting light, wind and waves. Part of Suzanne Barrett’s Horizon series, the painting is an invitation to pause and reconnect with those treasured moments of freedom, sunshine and escape.
Acrylic on canvas, it has been finished with a satin varnish for protection and has been professionally framed in a beautiful oak frame, ready to hang. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
