Growing up in the Blue Mountains, I was accustomed to the incredible views and bush surrounding me. Now, as an adult, I am rediscovering the beauty of the Blue Mountains which is my home and giving them the colour and drama they deserve. My process includes experiencing my subjects and landscapes firsthand and taking my own images as reference for my paintings to truly portray the emotions I felt while at the site. It is a joy to take my own children along with me to appreciate this beautiful land we call home. These two paintings explore the limits of colour and reality using lines and flow to portray emotion and movement.
