Dawn Perez is an emerging, self-taught artist based in Sydney on Gadigal Land. Working primarily in contemporary realism, her practice explores identity through the lens of lived experience, drawing on her experiences of culture, migration and motherhood. Through considered compositions, symbolism and an interplay of presence and negative space, Dawn reflects on the complexities of belonging, the transformations of womanhood and the quiet significance of everyday moments. Her work invites viewers to find meaning in the familiar, offering intimate reflections on the experiences, relationships and cultural narratives that shape who we are.
