Casie Hughes - Wall Bird #1

$115.00

Midfire clay
15x9cm

My ceramic pieces are primarily wall vases, often shaped by the bird life and natural forms that inspire my broader practice. Drawing from the bush natives and beautiful bird life of the Northern Rivers of NSW, I like to create works that feel simple, considered, and quietly expressive. Many of my pieces explore bird themes, reflecting both my fascination with birds and the sense of connection I feel to the landscape around me. I’m drawn to the simplicity of using single colours, allowing form, texture, and silhouette to speak for themselves without distraction. For me, a wall vase is more than a functional object—it is an artwork in itself, something that can live on the wall beautifully whether filled with flowers or left empty, holding its own presence in a space.
