You’ve got to admire those trees that keep sprouting from the edge of a precipice as it crumbles beneath them — their ability to still reach for brighter horizons when the ground is unstable is impressive. I’ve always been fascinated by coastal edges, where land meets sea. The trees that line these cliffs have surfaced in my artworks as little warriors. I like to call them my “cliff hangers.” I can relate, I often feel like I am clinging to the edge of something while looking out in the hope of a sunnier future.
