One of the first studies of the Bright Paradise series, Lady Palms with Ti plants is a botanical study of two types of plants that are ubiquitous in my neighbourhood, every garden has them, and they are the background pattern to my daily life. In this work, I was trying to slow down to see and include as much detail in the drawing as possible, and the result is a densely layered composition suspended over a colour field ground.
