BOUT THE EXHIBITION

Selected artists will exhibit 2 artworks as part of a curated group show at & Something Else an exciting new gallery space in the heart of Manly, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This is a unique opportunity for exposure, connection, and professional development, and is open to artists looking to join a vibrant, new creative community!

The Language of Flowers explores the many ways artists interpret and respond to nature. From flowers and botanical subjects to landscapes, seascapes, gardens, markets, still lifes and other natural scenes, we welcome diverse perspectives on the world around us.

Theme & Concept

While flowers are at the heart of the exhibition, we welcome all interpretations of nature and the environment. This may include floral studies, botanical subjects, gardens, landscapes, seascapes, wildlife, still-lifes, tablescapes and everyday scenes inspired by the natural world.

We are looking for artworks that explore the colours, textures, forms, and atmosphere of nature, as well as the ways people experience and connect with it. Whether your work is realistic, abstract, contemporary, or traditional, we encourage creative responses that celebrate the beauty and diversity of the world around us.

KEY DATES:

Open Call Live: Wednesday 3rd June

Entries Close: Wednesday 1st July

Selected Artists Notified: Wednesday 1st July

Artwork Delivery Deadline: Wednesday 8th July

Exhibition Dates: 10th July - 2nd August

Opening Night: Friday 10th July

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Complete the “ Artist Submission Form” on our website - linked in our bio.

Include the following:

  • personal Information: Name, Location, Contact (Email or Phone), Artists Statement, Social Media handles, Website

  • Your Artist CV

  • Your portfolio

  • Images of the 2 works submitting (one per artwork)

Please Note:

There is no submission fee. However, if selected there is a small administrative fee of $100 and commission of 30% on sold works.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to artists living and working in Australia.

ARTWORK GUIDELINES

  • Submit two artworks that show off your Artistic Practice

  • Any Size!!

  • Please Label the Images: ArtistsName_Title_Medium_Dimension_Framed_Price.jpeg

  • Any medium accepted (except video).

  • Works must be available for sale upon delivery to gallery

Works will be selected based on:

  • Originality & Conceptual Depth

  • Technical Skill & Craftsmanship

  • Clarity in style

  • Audience Compatibility & Marketability
