23cm x 23cm
Acrylic on Canvas framed in Tasmanian Oak
Painting flowers in discarded cans has become a cherished ritual of mine, a welcome distraction during the humdrum of grocery shopping. I find such joy in uncovering little treasures, like this El Pato salsa can; I’m still torn on whether that titular duck is just arriving or poised to depart. I’ve returned to that specific can in my work many times, pairing it with my favourite blooms. Daffodils are my go-to, their cheery heads emerging with the shifting seasons, a vivid, sunny reminder that change is always on the horizon.
